Just a Bend, Surely not the End...

When you come up to a bend
What do you see?
Do you see the end?
Or what is yet to be?

When you come up to a bend
What do you say?
Do you say "I’m done"?
Or "there is something left to be won"?

When you come up to a bend
What do you hear?
Do you hear silence?
Or is there a voice in your ear?

At this bend in my road I can see
Just around the corner to know that
There He stands
Still with my heart is his hand
Attending to the plan
For prosperity and hope
In His time and in His way
And to this I can say,
With confidence in my heart and
Longing in my soul
That this is all to make me whole,
Mature and complete
Not lacking anything
Sure of Him and free to be
Found trusting and waiting,
That His voice I will hear,
A voice of strength and love
Full of compassion for me to know that
No matter where this road may go
There He will be,
“It’s you and me”, he says.
And that is when I know this bend in my road
Is not the end, surely not the end.
